Since 1992, the Bank of Slovenia has been awarding prizes for the best master's and doctoral theses in the fields of economics, banking, insurance, finance and financial law. Since 2023, they have been named after prof. Ivan Ribnikar, PhD. More than 300 selected works have been awarded so far.

This year, they are also inviting all those who have defended their theses between 1 July 2022 and 1 July 2023 to submit their theses. Seven prizes will be awarded; PhDs will receive a prize of €3,000 and Master's theses €1,500.

Those who have defended or will defend their theses between 1 July 2022 and 1 July 2023 can apply to the call by emailing krd@bsi.si. The application must include a PDF version of your master's or doctoral thesis, the application form and a written recommendation from your supervisor. The selection of the theses to be awarded the prize is decided by the Research Committee of the Bank's Council.

The deadline for applications is 31 July 2023.
