Become a Guide in Škocjan Caves
Every year, before the start of the tourist season, Škocjan Caves Park organizes a training course for cave guides. This is an exciting opportunity for a summer student job or even a potential long-term career.
This year’s training starts on February 6, 2025, and includes approximately 25 hours of theory and 20 hours of practical training. At the end of the course, candidates must pass a qualification exam. There are two exam dates, one in March and another in April 2025.
According to the Cave Protection Act and the Regulation on the Qualification of Cave Guides for Tourist Caves, all cave guides must complete training for leading tours in open caves and successfully pass the exam. Only adult candidates (18+) are eligible to take the exam.
