OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO COOPERATE WITH THE SLOVENIAN ARMED FORCES

In January 2023, the University of Primorska, in cooperation with the Career Centre of the University of Primorska and the Postojna Defence Administration (part of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia), organised two presentations on the possibilities of cooperation between students and the Slovenian Armed Forces. These presentations are aimed at learning about the possibilities of joining the Slovenian Armed Forces as an employer or as a test of one's abilities. The Slovenian Armed Forces offers different ways to get involved for students interested in a military profession or in the composition of the army and the military way of life: you can become a professional soldier, join the Officer Training School, become a contract reservist, do voluntary military service, spend part of the summer at a military camp, or take advantage of the scholarship opportunities offered by the Slovenian Armed Forces. The Slovenian Ministry of Defence and its formations employ people from a very wide range of occupations (over 70 different professions), which means that almost anyone interested in military life can find their career path with them.

The website https://postanivojak.si/ contains all the conditions for the different options for joining the army (conditions for recruitment in the SAF, conditions for entry to the SAF Officer Training School and officer career, conditions for voluntary military service, the possibility of being a contract reservist, and information on SAF scholarship opportunities).

The Career Centre of the UP will continue to provide regular presentations on the possibilities of cooperation with the Slovenian Armed Forces to various groups of students and graduates of our University.
