Opportunity for Young People: Paid Traineeships at the Council of Europe

The Council of Europe has opened applications for paid traineeships taking place between October 2025 and February 2026. The application deadline is 2 June 2025.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold the nationality of one of the Council of Europe member states, have completed at least three years of university studies, and possess a very good knowledge of one of the Council of Europe’s official languages (English or French).

Trainees will be involved in research, drafting reports and studies, attending and summarising meetings, preparing communication materials, and assisting with the organisation of committee meetings.
Most traineeships will take place in Strasbourg, though opportunities are also available in Brussels and Geneva.

The selection process takes approximately two months, and candidates will be informed of the outcome around three months before the start of the traineeship.
