Through a closer integration of the social and academic environment, the Career Center of the University of Primorska (KC UP) represents added value to the region and beyond, and for the university, it represents integral and necessary support in the study process, personal and professional growth of our users and helps to achieve the long-term goal, i.e. to increase the employability of UP graduates.
The career centre's activities are aimed at:
- students in their last year of secondary school, with the aim of better information about study options,
- to students and graduates through career counselling, aimed at expanding competencies and coordinated with the wishes of individuals and the needs of the labour market, as well as integration into lifelong school,
- employees at the university and others eager for new knowledge and
- to the wider social environment by identifying the most suitable students and graduates according to the needs of employers, by offering lifelong learning programs and preparing market analyzes

In the period from 1 July 2013, to 30 June 2015, the Career Center of the University of Primorska operated as part of the "UP University Career Center" project, in the period from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2013, as part of the project entitled "Career Planning and counselling for effective entry into the labour market" and in the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2020 within the framework of the University of Primorska Career Center project, a centre for lifelong learning and career orientation, which were also co-financed from the European Social Fund and Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Slovenia.

KC UP's areas of activity are:
- the comprehensive program of personal career management (personal and business counselling),
- Lifelong learning programs of KC UP (workshops, courses, seminars and other forms of education),
- development and research activity in the field of lifelong learning and career guidance,
- Alumni UP: strengthening the role of graduates as ambassadors of the university,
- placement of the contents of the career orientation in the credit system,
- trusteeship of the University of Primorska Scholarship Fund,
- marketing, information and promotion activity.
